Two Fins’ swimmers competed in the Warrender Baths Club’s Winter Graded Meet, at the Michael Woods Centre, last Saturday, with a degree of success. Both competed in two events each.

There were no medals on offer because of Covid, but the highest placing went to Steven Pate, 14 years boys, who took 3rd place in a very close contest finishing just 0.3 of a second behind the winner Krish Mathur of Warrender, and 0.19 of a second behind 2nd place Ben Ashworth of Bathgate.

Steven’s second swim was in the 200m Freestyle where he finished in 13th place. However, both swims resulted in PBs of 2.22 seconds and 4.73 seconds respectively with both his previous best times being set at the recent District and Fife Time Trials.

In advance of the introduction of Pathway to the top Steven moved eight places up the 100m Breaststroke rankings from 47th to 39th.

Unfortunately, Blair Wardlaw was just outside his PBs for both his events but gained a 5th place in his 100m Backstroke and 9th in his 200m Freestyle.
