Fins Competitive Swim Club’s success at District and National events, this year, continued last weekend at the Aberdeen Sports Village, with masters’ swimmer Vicky Jack, 40 – 44 years age group, competing at the Scottish Masters Long Course Spring Meet.

In addition to Scotland, the meet attracted swimmers from Northern Ireland, Wales, England, and Ireland. Vicky had four swims over the weekend, winning medals in all four and recording three PBs.

Vicky won gold in the 50m Butterfly, and this was the only swim not to produce a PB, but she was just 6 one hundredths of a second away. She also won a silver medal in the 200m individual medley, finishing just behind Johanna Galvin of Aer Lingus Masters, which means she stays in 29th spot in the Fins’ long course rankings.

Vicky’s other two medals were bronze in the 100m backstroke, again behind Johanna and Jodie Brown of Moray Masters, and the 100m freestyle, behind Jen Langford of Peebles, and Lianne Millar, Heart of Midlothian.

The 100m backstroke was a first long course swim for Vick which enters the rankings in 32nd place, and a 0.56 second PB in the 100m freestyle moves her from 33rd to 30th place.
