East Ditrict Time Trials

29/10/2017
Eleven Fins’ swimmer were at the Xcite Leisure Centre in Bathgate, last Saturday and Sunday, for the Scottish East District Time Trials. The main purpose of the meet is to provide an opportunity to swimmers, who haven’t already done so, to hopefully gain a consideration time for the Scottish East District Championships which will be held over three rounds, with the first taking place at the Michael Woods Centre at the end of November. While recording a good time is important the better finishing position will also give the swimmers a better chance of qualifying for the event. All events were competed at 200m and over as there is ample opportunity to gain times at other meets for the 50m and 100m distances.

Fins swimmers had a good weekend with all swimmers gaining a top ten placing. They competed in a total of 18 swims and recoded four wins, three second and one third place. There was a further eight top ten placings, which meant that there were just two swims that didn’t quite make a top ten finish. The swimmer also returned a reasonable 72% improvement rate.
