Fins Competitive Swim Club
Fife Leagues Round 3 – 2 May 2026
Last Saturday, 2nd May 2026, was a very successful day for the club at both the Fife Leagues and Novice Leagues, held at the Michael Woods Centre, Glenrothes.
The league swimmers returned a good 73% improvement rate, while the Novice swimmers returned an excellent 95%, although this does include first time swims. Where the swimmers did excel was in their achievements and performances.
In the Leagues 20 swimmers competed in 37 swims with 10 of them gaining 12 – 1st, 6 – 2nd, and 7 – 3rd places, plus a further 11 – top 10 finishes. Nine of the swims resulted in an improvement in the Fins top 50 all-time rankings, plus there was one new entry. Just a reminder that the the groups in the league are 8 to 12 years, 13/14, and 15 and over.
In the Novice Leagues 19 swimmers competed in 38 swims, gaining 4 – 1st, 11 – 2nd, and 4 – 3rd places, plus a further 14 top 10 finishes. Unusually, in the novice leagues, 14 of the swims were the second time for the swimmer, having already swum the event either at the Glenrothes Spring Meet, the Fife Schools, or a previous league. 12 of the swims resulted in actual PBs with four of them in double figures. The age group in the novice leagues are 8 to 10 years, and 11 to 13.
