Apologies for being so late with the reports and to try to catch up this report will incorporate three meets.

East District Kickstart Meet -27/28 September 2025

Much of the delay was down to the East District Kickstart Meet which I just didn’t understand with all swimmers swimming up an age group and I spent some time trying to find out if there was some kind of mistake. Even when it was explained to me I still had no idea what East District was trying to achieve as the swimmers were still swimming against swimmers of their own age group and I don’t really think it matters where or when they achieve their time. It is the time that matters.

The other thing to confuse me was that the times appeared in the Rankings the following week only to disappear and eventually reappear.

Fins had five swimmers taking part in a total of ten swims, recoding a total of 6 PBs, and they achieved one 1st place, four 2nd places, two 4th places, one 6th place, one 10th place, and one 11th place.

The only winner was Harvey Whytock in the 400m individual medley. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a previous time for Harvey but according to Meet Mobile Harvey’s time was a 25.91 second PB and his time of 5 minutes 39.36 seconds is just 4.63 seconds short of Fins all-time top 50 ranking.

Sadie Paton, 13 years female (correct swimming age) had two 2nd places in the 100m breaststroke with a 5.37 second PB and the 100m butterfly with a 1.35 second PB

Also, with a 2nd place and by far the largest PB by a Fins’ swimmer, was Cole Gray 13 years male, in the 1500m freestyle with a PB of 2 minutes 28.59 seconds. Cole’s time of 20minues 16.05 seconds moves Cole from 39th to 36th in the top 50 rankings.

Charlie Jack, 12 years Male, achieved the remaining 2nd place in the100m backstroke with an 11.38 seconds PB. Charlie also finished 4th in the 100m freestyle.

The remaining swimmer was Chelsea Walker, 12 years female, who despite finishing 11th in the 100m freestyle produced her best performance with a 4.60 second PB.

Chelsea also finished 4th in the 100m breaststroke; 6th in 200m backstroke and 10th in the 200m freestyle.

Warrender JAGS Meet – 25/26 Oct 2026

Fins had 10 swimmers competing in 21 swims at the Warrender JAGS Meet where they recorded 12 PBs. There was one new entry to the Fins’ all-time t0p 50 rankings and one improved position in the rankings

Top swimmer for Fins by virtue of the highest position in the rankings and finishing 1st in the 12 years female, 400m freestyle, was Millie Whytock whose time of 4 minutes 59.90 seconds, recording a PB of. 8.80 seconds moves her from 47th place to  38th place.

The other winner was 13 year old Lilian Blair, who won the 400m freestyle in a  time of 5 minutes 2.82 seconds, and a PB of 8.72 seconds which means she enters the top 50 rankings in 41st  place. This time we lose Kirsten Scott from the rankings. Kirsten set her time at Whitburn in May 1988.

Kristin Mackay, 17 years female, was 2nd, also in 400m freestyle, and 4th in the 200m individual medley

Ethan Pate. 14 years male, was 4th in both the 200m individual medley and 400m freestyle, recording a 1.08 second PB in his individual medley. Ethan was also 5th in the 199m butterfly, with a 0.79 PB, and 7th in the 100m backstroke

Cole Gray, 13 year male, was 4th in the 100m butterfly, and 6th in both the 100m backstroke and 199m freestyle, recording a 2.32 second PB in his 100m backstroke.

Jack Campbell, 13 year male was 8th in the 200m individual medley, and 9th in the 100m backstroke where he recorded a 0.51 second PB

Sadie Paton, 13 years female, had a particularly good meet with PBs from two of her swims. She was 9th in her 400m freestyle with a PB of 1 minute 12.20 seconds and a PB of 5.52 seconds PB seconds in her 100m backstroke, finishing in 10th place, and she just missed out on her PB in the 200m individual medley by 0.53 seconds.

Caleb Gray,14 years male, was 10th in. the 100m backstroke, and 11th in both the 400m freestyle and the 100m butterfly, and 13th in the 100m freestyle. Caleb recorded a 0.38 PB in his100m butterfly, and equalled his PB for his 100m breaststroke.

Summer Ramshaw, 13 years female, was 12th in the 100m  breaststroke recording a 5.28 second PB.

Chelsea Walker, 12 years female, was 14th in the 400m freestyle, swimming the event for the first time and setting her PB at 6 minutes 2.44 seconds.

North District Championships – 1st/2nd November 2025

Kristin Mackay, 17 years female, was Fins only representative at the North District Open Championships, held at the Aberdeen Sports Village. Kristin had two swims, the 800m freestyle and the 400m individual medley.

Unfortunately, Kristin just missed out on a medal, finishing 4th in the 800m freestyle, but a 2.91 second PB means that she moves up the Fins all-time top 50 rankings by two places from 7th to 5th.

In her 400m individual medley she finished in 8th place, just 0.82 seconds outside her PB.
