Scottish East District Time Trials

Ten Fins’ swimmers were at the Mercat Gait, Preston Pans, where they competed in a total of 21 swim at the Scottish East District Time Trails, the main purpose being to achieve times that would possibly qualify them for the Scottish East District Age Group Championships, and other events. The swimmers mostly achieved that aim by returning an improvement rate of 76%.
 
They also did well in terms of competition against other swimmers gaining nine 1St placings, six 2nd placings, with all but two swims being 10th placing or better.
 
The details were as follows:
Caitlyn Dodds, 15 years’ girls, 1st in both the 800m Freestyle and 200m Butterfly
Lucy Brice, 16 years’ girls, 1st in both the 200m Butterfly and 200m Backstroke
Kirsty Davis, 15 years’ girls, 1st – 400m Freestyle; 2nd – 200m Freestyle
Sam Lewis, 16 year’s boys, 1st – 400m Freestyle; 2nd – 800m Freestyle
Tianna Pease, 15 years’ girls, 1st – 200m Breaststroke; 4th – 200m Freestyle; 10th – 400m Freestyle
Callum MacDonald, 16 years’ boys, 1st – 800m Freestyle
Arran Stowe, 17 years’ boys, 1st – 800m Freestyle
Theo Goodfellow, 15 years’ boys, 2nd – 400m and 800m Freestyle and 400m Individual Medley
Megan Ovens, 15 years’ girls, 2nd – 200m Butterfly; 6th – 200m Freestyle
Kimberley McCabe, 15 years’ girls, 8th – 200m Breaststroke.
 
In terms of improvement the top three came from two swimmers – Callum, who reduced his 800m Freestyle by 10.74 seconds and Tianna, who reduced her 400m Freestyle by 9.49 seconds and her 200m Breaststroke by 7.88 seconds.
